Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Penguins right winger Tyler Kennedy did not play after appearing that his right leg or knee was injured on a hit by Senators defenseman Andy Sutton at 1:50 of the second period. There was no immediate word on the nature or severity of his problem.

If Kennedy cannot dress for Game 5, Ruslan Fedotenko, a healthy scratch the past three games, likely is the leading candidate to replace him.

Scratching Fedotenko, who scored seven of his 20 career playoff goals last spring for the Penguins, would re-enforce that the Penguins need to perform with more efficiency, patience and determination in the offensive zone.

Bleacher Report: A fourth to watch out for, are the New York Rangers camp invitees. I asked Jim Cerny, the New York Rangers beat writer, for a brief update on the Rangers camp invites (Ruslan Fedotenko, Alexei Semenov, and Garnet Exelby), and he replied by saying:

«It's only been conditioning tests so far, but Semenov and Fedotenko looked excellent, and Exelby looked pretty good.»

They sound like they are working hard to earn a spot, but they will have to play well in scrimmages and preseason to solidify a spot. Also, it may be worth noting that Fedotenko dropped 15 pounds over the summer.

NEW YORK POST: And finally, it was Avery setting another screen on yet another power play that helped Ruslan Fedotenko beat Hedberg with a screaming one-timer from the right circle off a nifty ladle from Matt Gilroy to tie the score 4-4 at 12:33 before Michael Del Zotto's 4-on-3 overtime power play goal at 0:52 lifted the Blueshirts to a 5-4 triumph. It was their second consecutive overtime victory over the Devils in three days.
Coach John Tortorella, who moved Avery up onto a line with Fedotenko and center Todd White, agreed that No. 16 played an effective game.

Vinny Prospal will be held out until at least the last two or three exhibition games because of problems with the right knee that was surgically repaired during the middle of last year.
Prospal's injury likely will open the door a crack wider for Fedotenko, who is attending camp on a tryout and whose play last night was markedly better than it was in Thursday's 4-3 victory at the Garden.

NYR: Following the release of both Semenov and Exelby, only one other veteran that accepted a training camp tryout remains in the mix for a spot with the Rangers, and that is winger Ruslan Fedotenko. He, too, will continue to be given a long look by the coaches before any final decisions are made.
